Gifts from the Garden

We offer a range of gifts and produce from the garden that vary through the seasons. Fresh organic produce is available in the summer and autumn ranging from vegetables grown in raised beds, rhubarb and varieties of top fruit (plums, damsons, gages and apples) and soft fruit.

Our popular apple juice, produced from a mixture of our own and locally-grown donated apples, is available in the autumn. There is nearly always a stock of delicious honey from our beehives, in 1 lb jars.

Plants are available throughout the year, depending on the season. Choose from bedding annuals, herbaceous perennials, shrubs, houseplants and cut flowers. We also have apple trees, propagated from our very own ‘Mary Challis’ apple on M26 dwarfing and MM106 semi-vigorous rootstocks, suitable for small gardens.

Looking for firewood? We usually have a stock of seasoned logs stored in the chicken sheds but they are popular and go quickly. Choose your logs and fill a wheelbarrow!

Check out our gift stand for tea towels and gift cards, designed by local artists. Tea towels come in two designs depicting views of the garden from original lithographs by Fran Godwood. Also on the stand are a selection of plant pots and old bottles and jars that make good ‘vases’ for flower arrangements.

We accept donations for gifts and produce by cash or card payments. Please do fill in a Gift Aid form if you are able to do so, it makes a significant contribution to the income for the Garden and Museum. Thank you!
